Funding awarded by

Maritime Research and Innovation UK

Maritime Research and Innovation UK

MarRI-UK are a collaborative innovation vehicle for UK industry and academia to jointly tackle innovation and technology challenges. They focus on research and innovation within mid TRL (3 – 7) levels to address the opportunities between "discovery and research" and "commercialisation" of Maritime Technologies and Systems. In 2020, we were delighted to be awarded a grant through MarRI-UK Technology and Innovation in UK Maritime Call, which was funded by the Department for Transport, to develop an offshore charging solution for electric and hybrid CTV’s, the Oasis Power Buoy.

Innovate UK

Department of Transport and Innovate UK

Innovate UK is the UK's innovation agency, driving productivity and economic growth by supporting businesses to develop and realise the potential of new ideas. Together with the Department for Transport, Innovate UK launched the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) to support the development of innovative technology to facilitate the commercial operation of zero emission ships by 2025.

Oasis Marine have been awarded CMDC funding for two projects. The first to develop a Hydrogen Offshore Transfer System (HOTS) with our parent company Jebb Smith Ltd. The study concluded in 2022 with the conceptional design of the Oasis Hydrogen Buoy, establishing that the system can be built and operated safely.

CMDC grant funding has also been awarded for the installation of an Oasis Power Buoy within a UK wind farm. Commencing early 2023, the two-year project will demonstrate full infrastructure testing of charging of a hybrid vessel at sea with renewable energy generated by a wind turbine.
