The latest addition to the Oasis Marine fleet is a workboat named ‘MV Triton’.
With Triton, we can conduct extensive trials and long term offshore testing of our latest Oasis Power Buoy designs. These will included offshore testing of the connection to the vessel, the transfer of power through the buoy and integration of the electrical and communications systems.
This will bring the Oasis Power Buoy to pre-production prototype stage, enabling pilot projects with offshore wind developers next year.
The Oasis Power Buoy is an offshore charger for windfarm maintenance vessels to enable them to switch from fossil fuels to green electric propulsion.
Once installed in offshore windfarms thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions will be saved each year.
In Greek mythology, Triton, the son of Poseidon, is a powerful sea god – half man, half fish – who rules the sea. MV Triton will certainly be a great asset to Oasis Power Buoy development.
